Hello, I’m Dr. Lorena Bathey, EdD, though most know me as Dr. B.
My work began in education, but I realized over time that behavior, emotional dysregulation, relationship struggles, and learning challenges were often rooted in something deeper: trauma.
Through years of working with children, families, schools and communities while also navigating my own healing journey, I became passionate about understanding how trauma shapes our identity, behavior, relationships, emotional regulation, and how we move through the world.
Today, my work focuses on trauma-informed education, restorative practices, emotional awareness, healing-centered conversations, and helping people better understand the connection between past experiences and present behaviors.
I believe:
- behavior is communication
- people are more than their survival patterns
- healing begins with awareness
- and understanding creates space for change
Through podcast conversations, workshops, educational resources, restorative work, and community dialogue, my mission is to help people better understand themselves, each other, and the impact trauma has on individuals, families, schools, and society.
Because healing is not about perfection.
It is about awareness, regulation, and growth.
